  The professor makes it really easy to learn by yourself. He publishes his lectures online so almost all of the learning can be done at home without attending lectures, which was what I did. The only time attendance was really needed was to take the quizzes and exams. Exams-wise, I thought the questions reflected the lessons well except for a few.

  I only had the class once a week so going 4 straight hours was hard but he knows what he's talking about and goes through each example thoroughly. Most people do end up dropping or failing out so just be aware. Tests and quizzes are very hard and if you miss one class you'll be behind. Attendance isn't mandatory but please do go to class.

  He's an overall great professor. He teaches well and all but sometimes gets lazy. His grading criteria is not the best, as it is black or white for him, if you get the answer right you get a point and if you don't, you don't. His exams are mostly multiple choice, which could be both good and bad. He's good but I wouldn't recommend him.

  I took professor Calabrese online and he genuinely cared about his students and was really good at teaching. He tries his best knowing that statics is difficult and gives opportunities to be successful. You can't slack of and need to study but he gave plenty of time for online tests.

  The guy is an amazing professor. Always make sure the students understands the material before he moves on. Give outs homework and study guides closely resembling the exams. You attend the class and do the homework, you should be fine.

  Dr. Calabrese is the best professor I've had at CSULB. He makes the subject easy to understand. He works with you. He helps you out in office hours. He is a great human being and his teaching style is really effective. I loved the class.

  He is one of the best professors I have ever had. He does a great job teaching the class and he is truly respectful. He cares about his students, and he is available in his office hours. The material is not easy, so you have to study and practice a lot. If you do your part, you should not have any problems. Take him.

  Its hard to find a professor that is so passionate about their class subject like Professor Calabrese. I've learned a lot through his examples and he always check up on students to see how everyone is doing after each example. Take him if you want to learn.

  Prof Calabrese is a true gem of a professor. Hes so passionate and genuinely cares for his students especially bc we are going thru COVID. This subject is not easy but he makes sure his students understand. One of the best professors Ive ever had. Hes the kind of professor every student deserves and inspired me to work hard to learn the content.

  Prof. Calabrese has done an amazing job teaching Statics, a relatively difficult subject, as an online class. He has polls constantly asking if we understand and would gladly go over a topic if students ask questions. He makes the subject fun to learn, but you still have to put in the work of studying it. We had 6 quizzes, 2 midterms, 1 final.

  He adjusted so well to the online environment. He makes the class fun and asks for feedback after explaining every single thing. He stays way after the lecture to answer any questions. Not too much homework, 2 midterms, 6 quizzes, and the final. The material is not too complicated and he explains it really well. Bonus- He has an Italian accent too.

  This professor genuinely cares about his students. Every lecture he will occasionally stop and ask if the students understand. He also is open to feedback on how to improve his lectures; that is when you know a professor is great. A very nice professor and would definitely take him again.

  Statics isn't easy but Calabrese makes it as painless as possible. He's very encouraging & cares about you. Very understanding of the various challenges in 2020, explains concepts well, and he tells you exactly what you need to do/know to succeed in class. No on-cam requirements, records/posts lectures.

  His class is too easy for a graduate level course that I asked myself if he actually know much about the subject himself. Exams are close to homework, nothing conceptual. But his lectures are fun and easy to understand but again too easy that it became questionable!!!!!

  DO NOT TAKE HIM. ALL HE TALKS ABOUT IS RATE MY PROF AND TENNIS. DIDN'T LEARN ANYTHING IN THIS CLASS AND HE COMPLAINS HOW HE DOESN'T HAVE GOOD RATING. HE DOES COME TO SCHOOL ON WEEKENDS TO HELP STUDENTS BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU WILL PASS/IT WILL HELP DURING THE TEST. TEST IS HARD FOR NO REASON AND HIS HANDWRITING IS A MESS.

  I really enjoyed his lectures overall. However, his explanations and examples at the back end of the semester became more confusing, though that may be an effect of distance learning. Regardless, he's very caring and wants students to succeed. Exams are difficult, but the class is not difficult to pass. I appreciate his openness to student feedback

  Calabrese has a very engaging lecture style, that uses student involvement. He is very open to feedback. He makes learning statics very simple and easy if you attend the class and participate in class. In fairness, he does have difficult exams; but is very easy to pass his class. He did not require the pink calculator during the fall 2019 sem.
